More than 90% of the medicines we distribute with the Mobile Herbal Clinic Calais are grown, harvested and made by volunteers. There are opportunities to get involved across England and Scotland!

Volunteering at Northdown Orchard in Hampshire

We are looking for volunteers to help with medicine making for the mobile herbal clinic! Any experience level welcome!

When: First & Third weekend of every month, Saturday & Sunday. See exact dates on the graphic below.

Saturdays will be working in the herb garden looking after the herbs that are used in the various products that get taken to Calais. Activities will include planting out, sowing, weeding, hoeing, mulching, mowing the paths between the beds, some harvesting for Sunday, etc…….so if you don’t mind getting your fingers and knees muddy, join us then.

Sundays will involve jobs making products for the clinical team to use when in Northern France. This will involve some harvesting also making component parts, e.g. infused oils, glycerites, hydrosols, and final products, e.g. ointments, rubs, immune tonic, creams. I

If you would like to stay a whole weekend, you can camp or stay overnight in the spare room. Please enquire beforehand.
